AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of the San Diego Wave FC. She was also the co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Shortly after graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest athlete in the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
